School is fun…
Papers, papers. It is that time in the semester when all the first tests are handed out and the first papers assigned. The time when you have to learn exactly the professor is looking for.
Every professor has a different grading style. It seems they all look for something different. They all expect good writing skills, things like correct grammar and spelling. But they still all seem to have something specific they like or don’t like.
Some professors let their expectations be known. Those are the best professors, I think.
I have my first big history paper due. Five pages on “Black Boy” by Richard Wright. It is a good book, the paper shouldn’t be to bad. Five pages is not to bad either.
I have an “off the wall” editorial due next week for Opinion Writing. I have no idea what to write about. None, nothing, zip, nada, zero.
Any ideas, feel free to share.
I turned in my graduation application. That is a wonderful feeling. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Finally.

You need to write about something that gets you emotionally charged. Happy, sad, mad, etc. Your writing is always at its best and seems to flow naturally when you are fired up about something. That’s not much help…..
gay marriage
how to raise a child
tipping legislation
….I don’t know why you need help, you are the most opinionated person I know (except Glenn, maybe)!

Trade with Cuba! we trade with all these other commie contries, China, etc., real threats, but we stick it to Cuba, 90 miles away. What’s going on here?

Cuba ehh? I think Kristin gis right, I need to feel passionate about what I write.
I thought about talking about parenting and education. But I am not an expert on either of those. We’ll see.
Hopefully I’ll come up with something today or tomorrow.

I got it!! Democratic crooks versus Republican crooks, who sticks it to us the most. Where’s a 3rd party when you need it.

Jaime,
You might not be and “expert” on parenting and education—-but you are experienced on Volunteering. Maybe write about the expectations??? (even though it is volunteering, there is a lot of un-real expectations!!!)
I have to write a speech in the next month on something that is interesting to me. I’ve chosen “karma” because it has played such a role in my recent life, and it is something that I truly believe in. For another paper I am going to write about the 17 journals I’ve kept on my 3 boys (from pregnancy to present).
Another Idea could be “water bottles”——-everyone,(including me) carry them around campus like somekind of fasion statement. There are a billion colors, shapes, and sizes. Some may even cause cancer because of the plastic they are made of. Maybe we should go back to using leather pouches like in the old days!!
