The silver medal
Tanja Frieden, of Switzerland, won the gold medal in the womens snowboard cross yesterday.
Lindsey Jacobellis, of the USA, placed second and recieved the silver medal.
Lindsey was in the lead most of the race. About 100 yards from the finish line she hit a jump, got a ton of air, and then landed on her butt.
Tanja passed her and won.
The thing that bugs me about all of it is the way people talked to Lindsey afterward. Like ooohhh poor girl, she only got the silver.
I am sure she wanted the gold and Tanja probably knows if Lindsey wouldn’t have fell, she would have taken the silver.
But, still, it is a frickin silver medal in the olympics. Do any of the sports casters have silver medals? Do any of us have silver medals? No, I don’t think so.
I say Congratulations to you Lindsey. For you accomplished something many of us never will.
Lidsey is a dumb ass. Way ahead and she has to showboat. Tries doing an unneeded trick, and falls on her ass. She would have been last if the others hadn’t fallin. Typical spoiled American move. Even her coach said it was a stupid move.
She’s a blond, by the way.

I agree with Cowpoke – from what I have seen on the Olympics, some of our Athlete’s should be ashamed of themselves – no wonder so many countries hate us – some of the athletes are nothing better than spoiled rotten snots. Gold is great but I do agree that a medal in the olympics is a medal and they all should be proud of them. Showboating wasn’t something we should be proud of.

They also hate us because Bush lies and lies again. He orders torture, but denies. He kills thousand of civilians, in the name of freedom. Imagine the health care system we could have if we didn’t waste the billons on a needless war. He listens in, illegally, on American phone calls. I’m not safer or freer since this dickhead took over and Goring, I mean Cheney is twice as bad.

It makes me sick what a bunch of spoiled brats all the americans are. It seems like they really don’t care. I think its a really bad showing this time for the ESA. Attutude counts and they just don’t have it.

Yes, I agree, she was showing off most likely, but a silver medal is nothing to be ashamed of. She’ll have to live the rest of her life wondering if she could have had the gold if she hadn’t been cocky. But I still say a silver is better than nothing.

I will agree that she was showboating and the sad thing is most of the poeple who go to the olypmics to compete are spoiled ther whole life because they come from rich ass family’s i live in an area were these arragant fucks are bread so i know what they can be like and I don’t thinks it is fair that these poele are what ends up representing us on the global platform but the sad thing is they are the only ones who can afford to make it there us poor middle class folks if that is what we can be consider anymore are to busy scraping buy to be able to pay for thousand of dollars worth of equipment and lessons that these poeple can afford it is just bullshit and yes cowpoke are right it is the bush adminstrations fault they have fucked this country into oblivion over the past 6 years
