Animals

I see lots of wild animals at home. Deer, rabbits, elk, lots of water fowl.

This weekend I got to see a different variety of animals.

Kristin and I saw some Big Horn Sheep. I’ve only seen them twice before. She said they are always around Big Sky.

Chris and Jason went into West Yellowstone yesterday and they saw some wolves. They said they were about 100 yards away. Chris said they were bouncing and playing and chasing mice. I am totally jealous. I have never seen wolves in real life.

This morning there was momma moose and her baby in the yard. We watched them for about half an hour. The momma trashed some Aspen trees. She would wrap her mouth around the middle of the tree and pull down and snap it. It was pretty amazing to see her power.

It has been a great weekend! Now I am back to Missoula and school. Yeah me.

  1. It was great to see Big Sky with fresh eyes. Having company always reminds me of how lucky I am to live here and share it with my friends and family. I’m so glad you guys made the long drive down here. Skiing with you was just like old times. You still ski better and more graceful than me, but I’m still faster!! Good times.

  2. I would love to see the wolves – did see tons of deer on the way home from Gillette yesterday. While you were enjoying the outdoors and beautiful snow – I watched the Steelers beat the Broncos and right now I could’t stand to watch anymore of the Panthers and Seahawks – watching the Panthers was like watching the Lions – very painful!
